Fast facts about
Vitamin A & D
Vitamin A is fat soluble. It requires fats and minerals to be properly absorbed by the digestive tract. It occurs in two forms - preformed Vitamin A, called Retinol (found only in foods of animal origin) and Provitamin A, known as Carotene (provided by foods of plant origin). Vitamin D is also fat soluble and it can be acquired either by ingestion or by exposure to sunlight. Vitamin D is best utilised when taken with Vitamin A.
